KIT

DESIGNING THE FURTURE AS PARTNERS.

The Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT) was established in 2009 through an integration of the university and research institute. The focus of research and teaching at KIT are energy and mobility. In the scope of search for cooperative partners for the development programme EFRE (EU and the State of Baden-Württemberg) representatives of KIT and Alltech Dosieranlagen GmbH became acquainted at the IFAT, the leading world trade exhibition for the water, sewage, disposal and raw material industry. A research and development cooperation was established. On the basis of the P–RoC process developed KIT, KIT and Alltech developed components for the recovery of phosphorus. The process is suitable for various areas of application (purification plants, percolation plants, pig rearing and fattening farms) and was nominated for a GreenTec Award 2014. The successful participation in the KIT research and development projects provides Alltech the opportunity to further develop the plant portfolio and to open new sales markets and generate new customer groups.

“With Alltech we have a good cooperative partner, a medium-sized business that can react relatively flexibly to technical demands.”

Anke Ehbrecht and Dr Rainer Schuhmann, KIT
