POLYMAT POLYMER PREPARATION SYSTEM IMPROVES THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT IN BEVERAGE PRODUCTION

POLYMAT  improves the efficiency of the Dissolved Air Flotation and the dewatering performance.

SOLIBRA (Société de Limonaderies et de Boissons Refraîchissantes d’Afrique) is an African company specialising in the production of soft drinks and beer. The company’s guiding culture includes the responsible use of the scarce resource “water” in beverage production. This also includes operating its own waste water treatment plants in all production facilities.

Alltech supplied a fully automatic POLYMAT V9 preparation and dosing system for powdery polyelectrolyte. Polyelectrolyte dosing is used for both to improve the efficiency of the DAF process and to support the sludge dewatering process as part of SOLIBRA’s wastewater treatment.

Flocculant dosing to increase the efficiency of the DAF and dewatering process

The DAF is a process for separating particles from wastewater by attaching them to air bubbles. This causes the particles to rise to the water surface where they are automatically skimmed off. The particles can adhere better to air bubbles if they are bound to flocs through the use of polyelectrolyte.

The dewatering performance of the decanter is also increased by the addition of flocculants.

The POLYMAT V9 is a fully automatic preparation and dosing system suitable for powder, granulate and emulsions. The POLYMAT is designed as a three-chamber flow-through system.
